From the rich collection of prints and drawings in the Museo Correr, some 50 drawings by Pietro Longhi. Pietro Longhi was an excellent draughtsman. Today, just over 170 sheets of drawings are attributed to him, the most sizeable corpus (a good 145 drawings) being in the Museo Correr, Venice; they were acquired by the Museum’s founder, abbot Teodoro Correr, directly from the artist’s son, Alessandro.
The focus is on those which are related to the paintings that are on permanent display in the room alongside.
